This policy is based on the local Konekt privacy document.
This Privacy Policy explains how Konekt handles information used to create accounts, build profiles, show discovery results, support likes and matches, enable chats, operate safety tools, provide paid features, and maintain the app. It is written for Konekt's dating and social connection features and is intended to reflect privacy expectations for users in Jamaica, the Caribbean, and other locations where the app is used.
Konekt may process information you provide, including your name, date of birth or age, gender, dating preferences, city or parish, profile bio, interests, photos, prompts, verification content, settings, reports, support messages, likes, passes, matches, chats, voice or media messages, purchase status, and account deletion or appeal requests.
Konekt may process app activity and technical information such as sign-in events, profile completion, likes, passes, matches, chat activity, report history, safety signals, device type, app version, notification token, approximate location context when allowed, crash logs, diagnostic data, and security or fraud-prevention signals.
Konekt may request device permissions such as location, notifications, camera, photo library, and microphone when a feature needs them. You can control these permissions in iOS Settings. If a permission is turned off, some features may not work or may be less personalized.
Konekt uses information to create and secure accounts, display public profile content, calculate profile completion, show discovery results, respect preferences, support likes and matches, enable chats, send notifications and emails you allow, provide purchases and Konekt Plus features, review reports, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, comply with law, and protect users and the app.
Konekt uses location context to improve nearby matching and profile relevance when location access is allowed or when you provide a city or parish. Public profile information should show broad location context, such as a city or parish style summary, not exact live location text. You can adjust device location permission in iOS Settings.
Some information used by a dating app may be sensitive, including photos or facial images, gender, dating preferences, sex life-related information, reports, safety information, and location context. Konekt only uses this information for app functions, safety, legal compliance, and other purposes described in this policy. Where consent or another lawful basis is required, Konekt will rely on the applicable basis for the feature involved.
Other users may see public profile content, such as display name, age, photos, bio, interests, prompts, verification indicators, and general location summary. People you match or chat with may see messages and other content you send. Private settings, payment details, authentication details, device data, support requests, and internal safety records are not intended to appear as public profile content.
Konekt may use profile information, preferences, activity, account status, location context, and safety signals to rank or filter profiles, decide eligibility for discovery, suggest possible matches, and support account protection. These features are intended to improve relevance and safety, not to make legally significant decisions about employment, credit, housing, health care, or similar matters.
Depending on the feature and applicable law, Konekt may process information because you consented, because processing is needed to provide the app or perform the user agreement, because it is needed for safety or legitimate app interests, because it is required by law, or because it is needed to protect users or respond to reports. You can withdraw device permissions and certain preferences, but some processing is required to operate an account.
Konekt may send service messages, account notices, safety notices, match updates, email updates, and push notifications when allowed. You can manage push preferences, email preferences, and match emails from Account Settings where available, and you can also use iOS notification controls.
Konekt may share information with service providers that help operate the app, including hosting, authentication, storage, analytics, crash reporting, notifications, email delivery, purchases, customer support, security, moderation, and legal compliance. These providers are expected to process information only for authorized purposes and with appropriate safeguards.
Konekt may preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, protect users, investigate reports, prevent fraud or abuse, enforce the Terms, defend legal claims, or respond to urgent safety concerns. Konekt may also disclose information to a regulator, court, law enforcement authority, or emergency service where allowed or required.
For users in Jamaica, Konekt aims to handle personal data consistently with Jamaica's Data Protection Act principles, including fairness and lawfulness, purpose limitation, data minimization, accuracy, storage limitation, respect for data subject rights, cross-border transfer safeguards, and appropriate technical and organizational security measures. Users in other Caribbean jurisdictions may have additional local rights depending on where they live.
Konekt and its service providers may process, store, or support information outside the country where you live. When information is transferred internationally, Konekt aims to use appropriate contractual, technical, organizational, and legal safeguards for the type of information and destination involved.
Konekt keeps information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the app, maintain your account, support safety, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce terms, prevent fraud, maintain backups, and keep business records. When information is no longer needed, Konekt will delete, anonymize, or otherwise handle it according to applicable retention and disposal requirements.
Konekt uses technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. No app or online service can guarantee perfect security, so you should also protect your account, use trusted devices, and be careful about what you share with other users.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access to personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion or erasure, restriction or objection to processing, withdrawal of consent, objection to direct marketing, review of certain automated decisions, and information about how your data is used or shared. You can start by using in-app settings or contacting support@konekt.dating.
Konekt is not for minors. Users must be at least 18 years old. Konekt does not knowingly allow minors to create accounts. If Konekt learns that an account belongs to a minor, it may restrict or delete the account and related content.
When you delete your account through available app tools, Konekt will remove your active profile and begin deletion or deactivation processes for account data, subject to backups, legal obligations, safety records, purchase records, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and technical limits.

If you are in Jamaica and believe your personal data rights have not been respected, you may also have the right to contact Jamaica's Office of the Information Commissioner or use other remedies available under applicable law.
Konekt may update this Privacy Policy as the app, legal requirements, service providers, or privacy practices change. The updated version will be made available in the app or by another reasonable method. Continued use of Konekt after an update means the updated policy applies.
